I was on the search for interesting plates for presenting recipes on in some food shots. I decided go into Steveston’s little antique store and look around. After scouring every shelf I felt a little disappointed with the volumes of fine china and crappy crystal.

I felt I wasted my time when this flash of red under several platters caught my eye. These handles are familiar to me, these handles can only be attached to one thing… A Paella Pan! I lifted the clutter on top to discover a pristine, 20 inch carbon steal Paella pan.

I was elated, particularly after realizing it was only $6.00. While paying for the pan I said to the woman, I cannot believe I found this in here. She seemed surprised that I was so excited about such an ugly tray! After telling her what it actually was she seemed quite surprised, but still no idea what I was talking about.

She also didn’t realize I would have paid at least $15.00 for it.
